Come for a filling breakfast, lunch, or dinner — and get a slice of pie no matter what time of day it is.
The Seared Ahi Sandwich is a particular favorite, as is the Lahaina Hot Dog. Whatever you order, make sure to get a pie to go with it. Chocolate Haupia Pie and Peanut Butter Pie are always available by the slice. Alternatively, you might be lucky enough o find Banana Cream, Chocolate Mac Nut, Olowalu lime, Pineapple Mac Nut, or Coconut Cream available.
Olowalu is a sleepy, blink-and-you'll-miss-it town on the way to Lahaina and Kaanapali, so its clientele are mainly locals lots of 'em and savvy tourists.
What should we order? The menu has been stripped down to a limited version of what they used to have pre-Covid. Yet the real thing to order here is duh the pies, which rotate daily. Standouts: the blissfully tart Olowalu Lime Pie, the fluffy and decadent Coconut Cream Pie, and the Guava chiffon pie. And how did the front-of-house folks treat you? This is a counter-service spot, but the interaction is always warm and pleasant.
Who should we bring with us when we visit? Bring any pie-lover—or just anyone, period. Just look at all those pies! Your jaw begins to flap around on its own while your brain attempts to work out the quickest way to absorb as many calories as possible, making comprehensible speech quite a challenge.
A flaky, sugary pouch of pure apple goodness. Despite the fact that it appeared to be travel friendly and pick-uppable, even so much as a sideways glance was enough to make it disintegrate into a flaky pile of pureed pie bits.
The apple filling, believe it or not, was slightly better than that. It was as though angels had trained a thousand tiny unicorns to poop apples instead of candy corn, and then made a pie out it. It was unreal. What a cute little pie. I could just eat it all up!
Actually, I did. We were so impressed with the pies the banana cream was crazy good too that we came back a couple days later for lunch.
